Mission
The Germantown Democratic Club works to advance government policies and practices that serve the public good and address needs that cannot or should not be left unmet. We encourage candidates and elected officials to expand opportunity for all citizens, regardless of economic or social standing; to place the interests of the community above personal gain; and to uphold the highest standards of integrity in the service of the public.

Vision
We envision a Germantown where an informed, engaged, and inclusive community actively participates in democracy. A community where government serves the public good, opportunity is accessible to all, and leaders are held to the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and service.

Our History
The Germantown Democratic Club has been serving Germantown and Shelby County since 1993. The Club is the oldest continuously operating Democratic organization in Shelby County and one of the oldest in Tennessee. Back in 1993 it was said that you could fit every Democrat in Germantown into a phone booth, which is one reason why we chose thename “Germantown.” Since then, our membership has grown, and though phonebooths are a thing of the past, the Germantown Dems have remained dedicated to providing a welcoming environment that encourages respectful dialogue, collaboration, and shared action within our diverse community.
Over the years we have been fortunate to have been served by experienced, hardworking and dedicated individuals on our Steering Committee. Some of these are no longer with us, but we could not have gotten where we are without them: Dr. Joe Weinberg, whose wide knowledge guided many of our decisions; Jeanette Warren, who was best known as robnnet for sharing news and volunteer opportunities via email; Mickey Klenz, who welcomed many to meetings and picnics; and Joyce Andrews, who loaned her home to many gatherings. We extend our heartfelt appreciation for their service. We also extend our gratitude to our past presidents Dick Klenz and Dave Cambron, who helped guide us and increase our impact in the community.
Take action for change.
